History: | Named in honor of five generations of the Evans family beginning with William Evans, native of Wales who settled in the area in 1719. The family owned land along the entire course of the stream throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. The Evans family was also influential in pursuading the PA Railroad to build a railroad line through the nearby community of Paoli, which occurred in 1854. |
